Part 2 – The Man Who Refused to Die

Silence consumed the boulevard.

Even the fountains seemed to stop flowing.

Victor’s hands trembled for the first time in his life.

“No… I watched you die.”

The stranger smiled faintly.

“No.”

“I watched you lie.”

The SUV doors opened one after another as armed security agents surrounded Victor’s men.

Liam looked between the two strangers, unable to understand what was happening.

His phone suddenly connected.

His father appeared on the screen.

“Liam… don’t trust Victor.”

Liam’s heartbeat quickened.

“What is he talking about?”

His father’s expression darkened.

“Because the man standing beside Victor… is your real father.”

The world seemed to freeze.

Liam slowly turned toward the mysterious stranger.

The man stepped closer, tears filling his eyes.

“I’ve waited twenty-three years to meet my son.”

Victor suddenly laughed.

“You think that’s the whole story?”

He reached into his pocket and held up a small golden key.

“The vault opens in one hour.”

Liam stared at it.

“What vault?”

Victor smiled one last time.

“The one that contains the truth about your family…”
