PART 2 — “The Truth Behind the Biker”

Lily ran after the motorcycle as it roared through the streets, her small voice lost in the noise.

“Please stop! That’s my dog!”

But the biker didn’t stop.

He drove straight to a private veterinary clinic in the wealthy part of the city. Nurses rushed outside in shock as the motorcycle screeched to a stop.

The biker gently carried Buddy inside.

Lily arrived seconds later, breathless, frightened, confused.

“Why did you take him?!” she shouted, tears finally breaking through.

The biker turned slowly.

“Because I’ve seen this before.”

He looked down at Buddy.

“I lost my dog the same way… because I didn’t have the money in time.”

Silence.

The clinic staff stood frozen.

He opened his wallet again and placed all the cash on the counter.

“Save him. No matter what it costs.”

Lily’s anger faded into confusion.

“But… why us?”

The biker knelt again, now softer than before.

“Because no kid should lose what they love just because they’re poor.”

Hours passed.

Outside the glass window, Lily watched the surgery light flicker on.

She held her hands together tightly, whispering:
“Please… don’t take him away from me.”

The biker stood beside her the entire time. He didn’t leave.

Finally, the doctor came out.

“He’s stable. He will walk again.”

Lily broke into tears.

Relief.

Joy.

Shock.

She turned toward the biker.

“Why are you helping us so much?”

He looked at her for a long moment.

Then said quietly:

“Because I didn’t save mine in time… so I save others now.”

Lily hugged him without thinking.

For the first time, the biker didn’t look scary.

He just looked human.
