Guests stepped backward.
Security froze.
The little girl stared at the screaming woman in fear.
Alexander turned sharply.
It was Victoria.
His ex-wife.
Her face was pale with panic.
“She’s not your daughter!” Victoria shouted.
But her voice trembled too much.
Alexander slowly looked back at the child sitting at the piano.
The girl’s eyes were wide with confusion.
“I… I don’t understand…”
Victoria rushed forward desperately.
“We need to leave. Right now.”
But the little girl pulled away.
“Why are you scared?” she whispered.
The entire room watched in silence.
Alexander stepped closer carefully, like he was afraid the child would disappear.
“What’s your name?” he asked softly.
The girl hesitated.
“Anna.”
Alexander nearly collapsed.
That had been his daughter’s name.
Victoria’s breathing became uneven.
“This is a mistake,” she snapped.
“She’s lying.”
But Anna looked at Alexander with frightened eyes.
“I’m not lying,” she whispered.
“I remember music… and a big house… and someone singing to me when I was little.”
Alexander’s eyes filled with tears.
Because he used to sing to his daughter every night before bed.
Victoria suddenly screamed:
“STOP!”
Everyone jumped.
Her mascara ran down her face as years of secrets finally broke apart.
“She was supposed to disappear forever!” Victoria cried.
The ballroom went dead silent.
Alexander stared at her in horror.
“What did you say…?”
Victoria covered her mouth too late.
Tears poured down her cheeks.
“I found out you were going to leave me,” she whispered shakily.
“You loved Anna more than anything… and I knew if she disappeared, you’d never leave.”
The guests stood frozen in absolute shock.
Alexander looked like the world had shattered beneath him.
Anna slowly stepped away from Victoria.
“You abandoned me?” she whispered.
Victoria reached for her desperately.
“Anna, please—”
But Anna moved behind Alexander instead.
And for the first time in ten years…
he wrapped his arms around his daughter.
The ballroom stood completely silent except for Victoria’s broken sobbing.
Then Alexander looked at security.
His face turned cold.
