Part 2 : The ballroom erupted into panic.

Guests whispered frantically while the woman stood frozen in the center of the dance floor, her legs shaking beneath her.

“No…” she whispered.
“That’s impossible…”

The security guard approached carefully and handed her the newspaper.

Her hands trembled as she looked at the photo again.

It was him.

Same eyes.
Same smile.

Same tiny scar above his eyebrow.

The article blurred through her tears.

“A seven-year-old boy died protecting his mother during a car accident…”

The woman suddenly couldn’t breathe.

Five years ago.

The same night she lost the ability to walk.

A horrible realization slowly filled her eyes.

The boy in the article…

Was her son.

The ballroom faded around her as memories crashed into her mind.

Rain.
Screaming tires.
Broken glass.

And a tiny voice crying:

“Mom, wake up!”

The newspaper slipped from her fingers.

“He promised…” she whispered weakly.

A shocked guest stepped closer.
“What?”

Tears poured down her cheeks.

“Before he died… he held my hand in the ambulance and said…”
her voice broke completely,
“‘One day, I’ll make you stand again.’”

People in the ballroom began crying.

The woman looked toward the empty dance floor where the boy had stood only seconds earlier.

Then suddenly—

The orchestra piano began playing by itself.

One soft note.

Then another.

The chandelier lights flickered violently.

Guests backed away in fear.

And in the reflection of the ballroom mirror—

The woman saw him.

Her little boy.

Standing behind her with tears in his eyes and a gentle smile on his face.

“Mom,” he whispered softly.

She turned around instantly—

But nobody was there.

Only silence.

Then, near the center of the dance floor…

A single small footprint appeared across the polished marble floor.

Barefoot.

Leading toward the exit.

The woman collapsed into tears, smiling for the first time in years.

Because deep down…

She knew he had kept his promise.
